Greetings Everyone,
On Monday February 22, David Acres, our State Director of Disaster Relief, called asking if we could field a crew to leave for Haiti on Monday March 1st for a 15 day long trip. By God’s mercy and grace the Nolachucky Baptist Association will have three men accompanying Mr. Acres and two other Tennessee volunteers, Monday (March 1st), as he and the team leave going to Haiti. The purpose of the trip is to set up operations for all of our future Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief trips as we attempt to assist this tiny country in rebuilding.
Please lift up in prayer Dr. Jim Wohlwend, Jack Henson and Ken Sheffield as they begin the process of charting a course for many more teams to follow in their footsteps. This team will fulfill a critical mission by designing a command center, a pharmacy, and putting into operation a large warehouse facility to be used by future Tennessee teams for up to three years. This team will also make the lodging and feeding arrangements for all the volunteers to come on future trips.
If you would like to keep up with our three men please visit this web-site: www.tnbdrhaiti.blogspot.com as Jack Henson is hoping to send back daily reports about Haiti and their progress during their 15 day stay.
Chile
As I am sure most everyone knows by now about the magnitude 8.8 quake that struck Chile over the weekend. With the death toll now over 700 we have just been notified by David Acres that Disaster Relief teams from South Carolina and California are now on standby to go to Chile if the call comes for help from BGR. Please, if you have not already; add the people of Chile and those who are offering assistance to your prayer list. To get the latest news link click on the tab below:
